E2028 – MBX8R ECO 1/8 Electric Buggy Kit (off road):
New suspension mounts and geometry. The MBX8R Eco uses new narrow RF (C) and RR (D) pivot blocks with new pivot inserts for increased tuneability. New longer box-shaped suspension arms and arm stiffeners. The rear arm uses an impact resistant material for increased durability. Adjusting the hardness of the lower suspension arms is possible with optional CFRP plates. The rear uprights are also new for the MBX8R Eco. The molded uprights have CFRP plates to adjust rear roll center.
New front shock tower and upper front arm mount use new pivot inserts for increased tuneability.
The MBX8R Eco chassis features a slightly new design to accommodate the new suspension geometry. The chassis has additional machining for increase droop, beveling on the front of the chassis for increased ground clearance, and is lighter.
New Battery mount for 4S shorty and standard batteries. You can install either short or standard size batteries using the new two-piece battery tray. The kit comes with 1 strap for 4S short battery (380mm) and 1 strap for 4S standard battery (455mm).
Differential and drivetrain:
High Traction Differentials are included in the MBX8R Eco. The Mugen Seiki HTD provides increased acceleration, longer runtime, and more consistent handling. The HTD’s also increase stability, traction and improve handling in bumpy conditions. The HTD diffs use new 20T internal gears to improve consistency and to have smoother operating differentials. This makes it easier to time rhythm sections, better in bumpy and low grip conditions, helps to increase traction. The MBX8R Eco comes with 13T bevel gear and 44T conical gears and 46T molded spur gear in the kit.
New wing and wing mount:
Lightweight high down-force wing allows more air to flow to improve jumping. The new IFMAR legal wing is durable, lightweight, and very stable on the track and in the air.
– Revised rear wing mount will provide additional downforce and increase durability. CFRP wing plate will be available as an option part.
Additional new items for the MBX8R Eco:
– New sway bar collars to reduce sway bar movement.
– Emulsion shock caps are included in the MBX8R Eco kit.
– Aluminum wing button.
– Updated center diff cover with holes for lightening.
The new ABSIMA LiPo batteries represent the current spearhead of development in lithium battery technology and offer new levels of performance. Masterful engineering, combined with experience from professional model sports, has resulted in a performance-optimized battery generation that is second to none on the track. The addition of graphene gives the battery improved properties such as higher energy density, lower internal resistance, higher discharge rates and a longer life cycle.
Graphene LiPo information:
ABSIMA Graphene Lipo series can be used as a standard 7.4V LiPo battery or as a high voltage (HV) 7.6V LiPo. But what is the difference between “7.4 V STANDARD” AND “7.6 V HIGH VOLTAGE” capacities?
Normal LiPo batteries have a final charge voltage of 4.2V per cell when fully charged. Due to the unique hybrid RS cell structure, the new type can handle a bit more and can be charged up to 4.35V. This not only results in more power from startup, but also means that there is more power in each individual cell, allowing for longer runtimes.
How do I charge HV LiPo batteries?
First, check if your charger includes a program for charging HV LiPos. It must be possible to set a charging end voltage of 4.35 volts. If this is the case, HV LiPo batteries should be charged as normal LiPo batteries. The maximum charge rate for an ABSIMA Graphene Lipo is 5C (5 times the capacity of the battery).
One more very important note about the charging process!
Please be sure to reset the final charge voltage back to 4.2V after completing the HV battery charge. Never charge a standard LiPo battery (7.4V) with 4.35V final voltage!!!!
Good to know:
A LiPo battery of the new generation should not be stored fully charged. Rather, the battery should be charged between 50% and 60% and not be stored below 10% discharged, otherwise the cells will be damaged.
HV-Lipos can also be charged with up to 4.2V like normal Lipos. They still offer more runtime under full load due to the much more compact design and a lower voltage drop.

That was the first comment when we took the prototype out for its first test drive. Size aside, this vehicle offers so much that we don’t even know where to start. The name “MAMBA” resulted from our first experiences, because the driving behavior could be described as “biting”. However, the built-in electronics and the remote control offer enough possibilities to adapt the vehicle to the respective driving skills of the pilot despite all its power.
